The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has officially acknowledged the escape of Nadeem Anjarwalla, Binance’s regional manager for Africa, from lawful custody.
Anjarwalla reportedly fled Nigeria using a smuggled passport, prompting the arrest of the personnel responsible for his custody. Investigations are underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding his escape. Anjarwalla’s disappearance occurred during the ongoing Ramadan fast, as guards on duty escorted him to a nearby mosque for prayers.
Meanwhile, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has initiated legal action against Binance and two executives, including Anjarwalla, for alleged tax evasion, filing a four-count charge before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
