Tragic Timeline Unveiled in Texas Mom’s Murder-Suicide Case

May 8, 2024

In a harrowing revelation, authorities have pieced together the final hours leading to the tragic murder-suicide of 32-year-old Savannah Kriger and her 3-year-old son, Kaiden, at a park in San Antonio, Texas. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar disclosed the chilling sequence of events, shedding light on the turmoil preceding the heart-wrenching incident that shook the community.

“The timeline we’ve constructed provides a glimpse into the turmoil that culminated in this devastating outcome,” remarked Sheriff Salazar, his voice tinged with solemnity, during a press conference on Thursday.

The saga began on March 18, a fateful day etched in sorrow, as Savannah Kriger left her workplace at 12:49 p.m. Her journey unraveled a tale of anguish and desperation, with a visit to her ex-husband’s residence in Verde Bosque. There, amidst solitude, she purportedly vented her anguish, vandalizing personal belongings in a tumultuous outburst.

Returning to her domicile in Dovers Den, San Antonio, Savannah embarked on a poignant display of shattered dreams, laying out wedding dresses on her bed. She fired shots into her weddingdress and wedding portrait.  “It appeared to be a symbolic act, perhaps representing the shattered dreams and fractured hopes she harbored,” speculated Sheriff Salazar, his brow furrowed with empathy.

The stark resemblance between the shell casings discovered at her residence and those at the crime scene provided a haunting link to the tragedy that ensued. With a heavy heart, Savannah bid farewell to her home and embarked on a journey fraught with despair.

“The sequence of events suggests a descent into despair, fueled by a tumultuous mix of emotions,” noted Sheriff Salazar, his gaze fixed on the assembled reporters.

The clock ticked ominously as Savannah retrieved Kaiden from daycare at 2:33 p.m., setting in motion a series of heart-wrenching interactions. A FaceTime call to her ex-husband at 2:46 p.m. unveiled a chilling premonition, as Savannah ominously foretold, “You won’t have anything at all by the end of the day.”

“A cryptic warning, laden with despair,” remarked Sheriff Salazar, his voice tinged with sorrow, as he recounted the chilling exchange.

The final moments of Savannah and Kaiden’s lives unfolded amidst the serene tranquility of Tom Slick Park, a stark contrast to the turmoil within. “The video captured by law enforcement reveals a heart-wrenching scene. She instructed Kaiden to “say farewell to daddy”, and she kissed him as a mother bids farewell to her son,” remarked Sheriff Salazar, his voice faltering with emotion.

“At 3:30 p.m., Savannah sought solace in the innocence of cartoons,” continued Sheriff Salazar, his tone laden with sorrow. “Yet, amidst the serenity, darkness loomed, casting a shadow over the tranquil scene.”

March 19 dawned with a grim discovery, as authorities stumbled upon the lifeless bodies of Savannah and Kaiden, entwined in an eternal embrace within a drainage ditch. “The echoes of a custody battle that raged with fervor paled in comparison to the tragedy that unfolded,” lamented Sheriff Salazar, his voice heavy with grief.

“As the investigation delves deeper into the complexities of Savannah’s final hours,” concluded Sheriff Salazar, his gaze fixed on the horizon, “one question remains unanswered amidst the sea of despair: What drove a mother to extinguish the very light she brought into the world?”
