Prince Harry, 39, has hinted at a willingness to return to royal duties if called upon by King Charles III, a source close to the royal revealed to Page Six.

The Duke of Sussex recently made a swift journey across the Atlantic to visit his ailing father, spending a brief but heartfelt 30 minutes with him following Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

In an interview with “Good Morning America,” Harry, currently fifth in line to the throne, emphasized his love for his family, sparking speculation about his potential role in royal affairs moving forward.

While the source expressed doubt that Harry would proactively seek out royal responsibilities, they suggested that he would likely respond positively if his father requested his assistance.

Harry’s recent reconciliation with his 75-year-old father at Clarence House in London marked a poignant moment amidst ongoing family dynamics.

Amidst ongoing speculation about his future role within the royal family, Prince Harry, accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle, has been actively involved in the One Year to Go celebrations for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 in Canada.

The Duke of Sussex, often described as a “renegade royal” due to his unconventional approach to royal duties, has long been a passionate advocate for the Invictus Games, which celebrate the resilience and determination of wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women.

Talking to reporter Will Reeves — son of the late “Superman” star Christopher Reeves — Harry revealed the moment he found out about his father’s diagnosis. “I spoke to him. I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could,” he said. He added, “Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”

When asked about his outlook on the state of his father’s health, he said, “That stays between me and him.”

Despite residing in California with wife Meghan Markle, 42, and their children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, Harry affirmed his commitment to visiting the UK to support his family, hinting at future trips planned for that purpose.

As for whether Charles’ illness could have a “reunifying effect” on the royal family, Harry said: “Absolutely. Yeah, I’m sure. Throughout all these families, I see it on a day-to-day basis, the strength of the family unit coming together.”

The royal couple has reportedly been engaged in efforts to mend rifts within the family, although challenges arose following revelations in Omid Scobie’s book, causing tensions surrounding allegations of racism within the monarchy.

Nevertheless, Harry remains optimistic about the potential for his father’s illness to serve as a catalyst for unity within the royal family, acknowledging the strength of familial bonds in overcoming adversity.
