Kano, Nigeria – The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has rewarded Mr. Auwal Dankode, a diligent staff member, for his exceptional honesty after he found and returned $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA).

Dankode, who hails from Kano, was part of a team assigned to clean an MS 878 passenger aircraft operated by Egypt Air last Wednesday. During the cleaning, he discovered the substantial amount of money left behind by a passenger on seat No. 25H. Without hesitation, Dankode handed the money over to the airline’s Station Manager.

In recognition of his transparency and integrity, NAHCO’s management, led by Group Managing Director/CEO Mr. Indranil Gupta, hosted Dankode at the company’s headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Gupta praised Dankode as a true ambassador of NAHCO, embodying the values of honesty, diligence, and hard work that the company upholds.

“Mr. Auwal Dankode has made us proud by demonstrating the values we hold dear at NAHCO. He is not only an exemplary employee but also a reflection of the training and culture we instill in our staff,” Gupta said during the ceremony. He also announced that Dankode would receive a cash reward, an instant promotion, and the prestigious title of NAHCO Brand Ambassador.

The accolade of Brand Ambassador will see Dankode representing NAHCO at major events nationwide, with opportunities to travel and interact with top company officials and stakeholders.

Other top executives of NAHCO also lauded Dankode’s integrity. Chief Financial Officer Mr. Adeoye Emiloju noted, “The integrity you’ve displayed is something innate and commendable.” Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Didier Steullet advised Dankode to remain humble despite the recognition, urging him to continue being a beacon of good character.

Group Executive Director Dr. Sola Obabori highlighted the global impact of Dankode’s actions, noting, “In today’s Nigeria, where the value of a dollar is so very high, by returning so many of them, you’ve done something commendable.
