According to TMZ, Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of rock icon Elvis Presley, passed away on January 12 at the age of 54 due to complications from a small bowel obstruction. The report from the LA County Coroner’s Office indicated that no drugs were found in her system, although toxicology results are yet to be released.

On the day of her passing, Presley suffered a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California home. Paramedics performed CPR and managed to get a pulse before rushing her to the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, she was placed on life support and a medically-induced coma due to her critical condition, but was ultimately pronounced dead.

In the week leading up to her death, Presley had been dealing with stomach issues. During an appearance on the red carpet, she appeared unsteady and leaned on her late father’s friend Jerry Schilling for support. While she had publicly acknowledged her struggle with drug abuse in the past, there was no indication of any major health struggles leading up to her passing.

Presley previously battled addiction to opioids and painkillers after giving birth to her twin daughters in 2008. She entered rehab multiple times, and although she had reportedly been sober in recent years, she continued to grapple with the profound grief of her son Benjamin Keough’s suicide.

In October 2020, Presley expressed her heartache and pledged to raise her daughters and support her son Riley in a tribute to Benjamin. The pain of losing him had a profound impact on her life, and she stated that she would never be the same without him.
