Israeli police have apprehended two assailants in connection with a horrifying terror attack in Ra’anana, just north of Tel Aviv. The incident involved the stabbing of a woman and the carjacking of her vehicle, which led to a series of vehicle ramming attacks. Eyewitnesses describe a chaotic scene as the assailant stabbed a man in his 60s before fleeing.
At least 16 people have been reported injured, with one woman succumbing to critical injuries at a local hospital. Three others remain in serious condition. The suspects, identified as individuals from the Hebron area of the West Bank, were taken into custody. Central District commander Avi Biton revealed that the assailants, believed to be from the same family, worked in the vicinity.
The attacks unfolded in two different locations, with the suspects carjacking and launching a series of rammings. Images from the scenes depict a heavily damaged white sedan that crashed into a bus stop. In response to the incident, schools in the affected area have been placed on lockdown.
The Israel Police issued a statement urging the public to remain vigilant and follow instructions from law enforcement. Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
