Ten instances of false information and deceit within the Bola Tinubu administration – Phrank Shaibu

September 25, 2023

The statement released by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, highlights what they claim are ten instances of false information and deceit within the Bola Tinubu administration. These allegations include:

1. The assertion that petrol subsidies had been eliminated, despite evidence to the contrary, with diesel prices soaring and petrol prices remaining high.

2. The false announcement that the United Arab Emirates had lifted the visa ban on Nigerians, which turned out to be untrue.

3. The claim that Bola Tinubu was the first African President to ring the NASDAQ bell, a statement contradicted by historical records.

4. Misquoting U.S. Presidential Envoy Molly Phee as stating that President Joe Biden wanted to meet Tinubu during the UNGA, which did not occur.

5. Tinubu’s assertion of retooling the exchange rate, which did not match the actual exchange rates on the ground.

6. A government tweeted about an airstrike on terrorists that was later disputed as propaganda.

7. A Central Bank announcement to inject $10 billion into the foreign exchange market, which allegedly never materialized.

8. Allegations of nepotism in key government appointments, with key positions favouring a particular region.

9. Claims by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company about obtaining a loan to stabilize the naira, which allegedly did not produce the intended results.

10. The Student Loan Act, which purportedly only covers tuition fees and did not prevent government schools from increasing other costs, leading to doubts about its effectiveness.

These claims, as put forth by Atiku’s aide, raise concerns about transparency, honesty, and government accountability within the Tinubu administration.

The statement calls for fact-checking and highlights what they perceive as a pattern of misinformation and deception.

APC for the time being should focus on solving crisis of insecurity, exchange rate , inflation , fuel hike , bad economy to name few rather than day to day propaganda

May Nigeria succeed!
