Ejikeme Mmesoma, the student accused of forging her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, has now admitted to scoring 249. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had previously accused Mmesoma of forging her result, but she insisted that she scored 362 out of the total mark of 400.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the spokesman for JAMB, stated that the board’s records showed Mmesoma had sent multiple messages to their automated telecoms system, including results displaying an aggregate score of 362. As a result, JAMB imposed a 3-year ban on the student from Anambra State, sparking mixed reactions.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily alongside her father, Mmesoma asserted that she should not be held responsible for the controversy. She claimed that it was not her fault that her result was printed incorrectly and labeled as forged. She expressed her view that the ban imposed on her was unjust.

Mmesoma explained that she had sent an SMS to JAMB through their support system but received no response. She stated that it was the only message she had sent, and she implored JAMB to check their support system to verify her claim.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin had previously described the result being presented by Mmesoma as outdated. He clarified that the board’s system had not been tampered with or compromised and accused Mmesoma of falsifying a copy of another candidate’s result slip. Benjamin pointed out that the QR code on the result slip revealed the true owner of the result, contradicting Mmesoma’s claims.

Regarding a video released by Mmesoma in her defense, Benjamin suggested that someone had coached her and influenced her statements. He urged people to carefully examine the video and observe her posture and demeanor.
