In a groundbreaking development, the Governorship election petition tribunal has rendered its verdict, invalidating the election victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state. The tribunal has declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful winner.
Governor Sule, who was seeking a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC) banner, faced intense competition during the election. He managed to secure 347,209 votes, narrowly surpassing his closest rival, Mr. Ombugadu, who garnered 283,016 votes.
The tribunal’s chairman, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, announced this historic decision virtually, confirming Emmanuel Ombugadu of the PDP as the duly elected governor of Nasarawa State.
