Immediate-past Governors of Kaduna, Rivers, and Osun are among the notable names featured on the ministerial list sent by President Bola Tinubu to the Senate for screening, as reported by The Nation.

According to an unnamed Senate source, the President forwarded the list to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Thursday morning.

The list includes prominent figures such as Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Lateef Fagbemi, Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate, Global Director of Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) Global Practice of the World Bank, and Dele Alake, the Special Adviser on Media, Strategy, and Special Duties to the President.

Also included in the ministerial list are former Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River, Senator Ben Ayade, and Mrs. Betta Edu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader.

The composition of the ministerial list seeks to reflect the national character and outlook of both the President and the ruling party, comprising a mix of politicians and technocrats. However, it remains unclear whether the list includes specific portfolios for each nominee.

The submission of the ministerial list by President Tinubu adheres to the constitutional provision mandating it to reach the National Assembly within 60 days after the President’s inauguration.
