In a recent development, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, has received a list of 28 ministerial nominees from President Bola Tinubu. Interestingly, the list does not have any state of origin attached to the nominees, as reported by Vanguard.
The delivery of the list was made by Femi Gbajiabiamila, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to President Tinubu. He entered the hallowed Chamber at 1.18 pm and promptly handed over the letter to Senator Godswill Akpabio at 1.19 pm.
The letter, which was addressed to the President of the Senate, contained the names of the 28 Ministerial Nominees. Among them are notable figures such as Abubakar Momoh, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Architect Hammad Dangiwa, and Hanatu Musawa. The list also includes Chief Uche Nnaji, Beta Edu, Doris Aniche, David Umahi, Nyesom Wike, Mohamed Badaru Abubakar, and Nasir El-Rufai, among others.
The remaining nominees listed in the letter are Ekperikpe Ekpo, Nkiru Onyejiocha, Olubumi Ojo, Stella Okotekpe, Uju Kennedy, Bello Mohammed Goroyo, Dele Alake, Lateef Fagbemi, and Mohammed Idris. Additionally, the list comprises Edu Muhi, Waheed Adebayo, Imma Suleiman, Ali Pate, Joseph Utsev from Benue, Abubakar Kyari, John Eno, and Sani Abubakar Damladi.
It is worth noting that the absence of the nominees’ state of origin raises eyebrows, and this development is sure to spark discussions and debates in political circles.
