“Pastor Kumuyi Envisions Development for Nigeria Through Tinubu”

August 23, 2023

William Kumuyi, the renowned founder of Deeper Life Bible Church, has expressed his optimism that President Bola Tinubu and his cabinet members will play a crucial role in steering Nigeria towards a brighter future. In an address to journalists on Tuesday, Kumuyi urged fellow Nigerians to halt their habit of incessantly critiquing governmental decisions.

Speaking ahead of his church’s monthly global crusade, slated for Thursday in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state, the revered cleric emphasized the need to focus on the present and embrace a renewed perspective. Kumuyi confidently conveyed, “This is a new day, and I believe; we all believe that we’re going to see new things for our country through our president and through the members of the cabinet. Good things will happen.”

Kumuyi went on to highlight the credentials of the new ministers, showcasing their track records as former state governors or ministers. He affirmed the meticulous selection process and underscored the importance of offering support without constant criticism. Kumuyi expressed his faith that through collective acceptance and encouragement, these leaders could become instruments for national development.

Furthermore, the cleric maintained his belief in divine intervention, proclaiming, “God will perform a miracle in the heart of our leaders and their hearts will be towards the people.” He invoked a sense of wisdom and responsibility in these leaders to ensure that their decisions and actions would ultimately benefit the country.

Kumuyi’s perspective elicited a range of reactions. While some applauded his stance, others criticized him for advocating support for President Bola Tinubu, especially given the ongoing legal battles surrounding the legitimacy of his presidency.

Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election has been challenged by figures such as Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party. Disputes center around issues including Tinubu’s alleged involvement in drug-related activities and his failure to secure 25 percent of the vote in the Federal Capital Territory.

Kumuyi’s unwavering commitment to praying for and supporting Nigerian governments stems from his deep-seated belief that all authorities are established by a higher power.
