In a significant development for Nigeria’s postal services, Tola Odeyemi, the recently appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), has pledged to usher in a new era of progress and transformation. Odeyemi officially took office on Monday, putting an end to the controversy surrounding the purported reinstatement of her predecessor, Sunday Adepoju.

Addressing the management staff of NIPOST during her inaugural speech, Odeyemi emphasized her commitment to building on the legacy of her predecessors and advancing the postal organization both locally and globally. Her vision is to harness technology and enhance the efficiency of NIPOST’s logistics, e-commerce, and other postal services.

Unveiling her agenda for the postal service, Odeyemi stated, “The essence of every administration lies in the ability to ensure continuity while staying focused on its core values and mandate while striving to maximize its potential and adapting to change. NIPOST has a legacy that was forged by hard work and the vision of those before me, and posterity will indeed be kind to them.”

She further expressed her aspiration to not only solidify NIPOST’s status as a leading Postal Operator but also to position it as a world-class e-commerce and logistics hub. Odeyemi’s ambitious goals signify a commitment to embracing the opportunities presented by the evolving e-commerce landscape and the demands of modern logistics.
