He stated, “I see myself as a reporter on duty, and I mean that in every sense. The President has tasked me to inform you that this is a brand new Ministry of Information and National Orientation, poised to be repositioned like never before. Today is not for policy announcements, but to connect with stakeholders in the ministry.”

“We are determined to ensure that the Renewed Hope of Mr. President gains significant traction,” Idris continued. “Mr. President has instructed me to be honest and transparent. This new covenant between us and Nigerians is about speaking the truth, acknowledging mistakes, and correcting them. The ministry’s core responsibility is effective information dissemination.”

To the media, he urged them to keep an open mind and heart, as the ministry would unveil its plans for the media in the coming days.

Idris also highlighted the ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability, vowing that all information would be readily shared. He invited questions and clarified that if mistakes were made, they would be acknowledged and rectified.

“In building an enduring legacy for our nation, transparency is crucial. Join us in helping Mr. President achieve this,” he added.
