A devastating mass shooting in the early hours of Saturday has left four people dead and several others fighting for their lives, according to the Florence Police Department.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. at a residence on Ridgecrest Drive. Police were alerted to the scene following multiple calls reporting an active shooter. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, leading police on a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a ditch on Dale Heimbrock Way near Hicks Pike.
