LeBron James, the renowned Lakers superstar, has broken his silence following the recent cardiac arrest incident involving his 18-year-old son, Bronny, during a basketball workout at USC. In a tweet on Thursday, James expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers from countless people, reassuring everyone that his family is “doing great.”

The incident occurred on Monday at USC, and James was seen arriving at Cedar Sinai Hospital the next day, wearing a face mask and carrying what appeared to be an iPad. Fortunately, medical staff promptly treated Bronny and transported him to the hospital. A James family spokesperson confirmed that he is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.

CNN reported that Bronny had a cardiac screening a few months prior, and the results were normal. However, it remains unclear what triggered the cardiac arrest for the talented 6-foot-3 combo guard, who is entering his freshman year at USC.

In light of the situation, James and his wife, Savannah, have requested privacy. They also expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the USC medical and athletic staff’s dedication to their athletes’ safety.

Bronny, a McDonald’s All-American and 4-star recruit, had attended the 2023 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles with his family just two weeks before the incident.

As the family takes time to process and recover, Bronny himself has not yet made a public statement about the incident.

The James family’s gratitude for the support and the concern for their son’s well-being have touched many, and the public continues to offer their thoughts and prayers for the young athlete’s recovery.
