“Kevin Spacey Celebrates Acquittal at London Hotspot Amid Controversy”

July 27, 2023

Kevin Spacey, the Oscar-winning actor, was seen celebrating with friends at the Groucho Club in Soho after being cleared of sexual assault charges by the Southwark Crown Court in London. The 64-year-old actor was in high spirits at the private members’ club, where he also marked his 64th birthday.

Sporting a “be kind” button on his backpack, Spacey appeared proud and emotional after the final “not guilty” verdict was read earlier that day. The actor had faced charges of assaulting four men over a span of 20 years. Throughout the trial, he maintained that he was innocent, and upon his acquittal, he expressed feeling “humbled.”

At the Groucho Club, Spacey was joined by approximately seven friends as they sipped whiskey and enjoyed the evening. Although the group did not sing “Happy Birthday,” witnesses noted that everyone seemed to be in good spirits.

Outside the court, Spacey expressed gratitude to his friends, particularly his long-time pal and manager, Evan Lowenstein, who accompanied him to the club. Dressed casually in a sweater and pants, Spacey left the venue around midnight, using an umbrella to shield himself from the rain.

During the trial, three men accused Spacey of aggressive behavior, claiming he had groped them inappropriately. Additionally, an aspiring actor accused him of performing oral sex without consent.

Spacey admitted to being a “big flirt” and having consensual flings with men but denied any malicious intent. His defense lawyer, Patrick Gibbs, argued that the encounters had been reimagined with a negative spin and accused the accusers of seeking financial gain by jumping on the #MeToo movement.

Despite the acquittal, Spacey’s future in Hollywood remains uncertain. The allegations and trial have undoubtedly impacted his career and reputation, and it is yet to be seen if he will be welcomed back into the industry.
