Christine Baumgartner, estranged from actor Kevin Costner, faces a legal setback as she’s been directed to cover Kevin’s attorney’s fees in an ongoing legal dispute.
In a recent development, Kevin’s attorney, the prominent Laura Wasser, questioned Christine’s comprehension of the Premarital Agreement she had previously signed. This inquiry holds significance due to indications that Christine might contest the prenuptial agreement, making her understanding of it crucial.
Christine and her legal team responded by claiming a lack of clarity regarding the term “understand.”
Subsequently, a protracted legal exchange between the parties ensued, leading to Kevin’s attorney fees accumulating to a substantial $14,237.50.
In the latest court session, the judge ruled in favor of Kevin, instructing Christine to cover the accrued legal expenses.
This development follows Kevin’s recent triumph in a child support dispute, where Christine sought $248,000 per month, but Kevin successfully argued for a monthly payment of $63,000, which the judge approved.
The uncertainty persists as to whether Christine will challenge the prenuptial agreement. Should she proceed with a challenge and lose, she would be liable for Kevin’s attorney’s fees incurred during the defense of the prenup.
