The divorce proceedings between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have taken a new turn as they argue over household items, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Friday, July 14.
Baumgartner, 49, claimed that Costner, 68, expressed concerns that she would take too many pots and pans. However, Baumgartner refuted these claims, dismissing them as trivial and stating that she wouldn’t strip the house bare.
She also provided a written list of the items she intended to take when she moves out, including a silver mirror, dining chairs, silverware, pots, pans, her e-bike, swivel chairs, queen bed, mattress, bedding, rug, nightstand, and kitchen table.
In response, Costner argued that Baumgartner’s property list request was too vague for him to provide consent. He highlighted the lack of specific details regarding plates, bowls, silverware, and family heirlooms.
Baumgartner maintained that her removal of personal items, such as her Peloton bike and family heirlooms, wouldn’t harm Costner. She accused him of attempting to control the move-out process as she prepares to leave their family home.
A judge ruled in Costner’s favor on Thursday, July 13, permitting Baumgartner to take only her toiletries, clothing, handbags, and jewelry from the home. However, the judge stated that she could take additional items once the couple reaches a written agreement.
Costner and Baumgartner filed for divorce in May, citing irreconcilable differences. They share three children. The divorce proceedings have been marked by disputes over finances and child support.
In June, Baumgartner alleged that Costner was trying to evict her from their family home. A judge ruled that she must vacate the premises by the end of July, as per their prenuptial agreement. Additionally, Baumgartner requested $248,000 per month in child support, but a judge later ordered Costner to pay $129,755 per month.
