In a significant announcement during Sunday’s church service, Jimmy Odukoya, the son of the late Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya, has been appointed as the new senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church. The decision was made unanimously by the board of trustees (BoT) in accordance with a succession plan that was known to Taiwo Odukoya before his passing.

Rotimi Okpaise, a pastor at the church, addressed the congregation and conveyed the BoT’s decision. Jimmy Odukoya has not only been named the senior pastor but also the chairperson of the board. The formal installation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2023, marking a significant milestone in the church’s leadership transition.

The passing of Taiwo Odukoya, the church’s founder, on August 7, 2023, at the age of 67, was a profound loss. It came less than two years after the death of his wife, Nomthi, in November 2021, following a valiant battle with cancer. Their marriage of 11 years had produced two sons, adding to the church’s close-knit legacy.

Prior to his marriage with Nomthi, Taiwo Odukoya was married to Bimbo for 21 years. Tragically, Bimbo lost her life in the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

But who is Jimmy Odukoya? Beyond his pastoral role, he is a multifaceted individual. Jimmy is a renowned Nollywood actor and musician, notable for his performance as Oba Ade in Netflix’s ‘Woman King.’ His acting career also boasts appearances in films such as ‘Lifting the Veil,’ ‘I am Nazzy,’ and ‘Oga Pastor,’ among others. Moreover, he serves as a motivational speaker, using his talents to inspire and uplift others.
