Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx recently spoke out for the first time since his hospitalization due to a mysterious “medical complication” in April. In an emotional video shared on Instagram Friday night, the 55-year-old actor fought back tears as he recounted the “hellish” experience he endured during his health struggle.

Foxx reassured his 16 million followers that he is not “blind” or “paralyzed,” addressing the curiosity and concern surrounding his health status. He admitted that he initially hesitated to share his condition, as he wanted his fans to see him in good spirits, making jokes, and enjoying life, rather than in a vulnerable state with tubes and uncertainty.

Although Foxx did not disclose the specific illness he faced, he expressed gratitude for his sister, Deondra Dixon, and his daughter, Corinne Foxx, 29, for playing instrumental roles in saving his life. He also praised the medical professionals involved in his recovery. Thanks to their support and the grace of God, Foxx declared that he is now “on the road to recovery” and will be able to return to work.

In April, Corinne had previously revealed that her father fell ill during the production of his upcoming movie “Back in Action,” but further details about the medical issue were kept private.

The actor’s public acknowledgment in May, expressing thanks for the overwhelming love and support from his fans, hinted at his ongoing health challenges.

In his recent video, Foxx warned his followers that they may see him getting emotional in public due to the impact of his tough journey. However, he emphasized that he wants to be remembered for his humor, movies, and songs.

As Foxx continues his recovery, he remains thankful for the love and support he has received and looks forward to being back in the limelight, making people laugh and sharing his talents with the world.
