Former Chibok Schoolgirl Who Escaped Boko Haram Abduction Gets Engaged in the US

In a heartwarming turn of events, Joy Bishara, one of the brave schoolgirls who escaped from the clutches of Boko Haram during the infamous 2014 invasion of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, has announced her engagement to a Caucasian partner in the United States.

On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram militants stormed the school, kidnapping a staggering 276 female students between the ages of 16 and 18. Amidst the horrifying ordeal, 57 young girls, including Ms. Bishara, showed incredible courage and resourcefulness by jumping from the trucks used to transport them, securing their escape from captivity that very night.

After surviving the traumatic incident, Joy Bishara resettled in the United States, where she pursued her education. In 2021, she accomplished a remarkable milestone, earning a degree in social work from Southeastern University.

Joy’s journey to healing and hope took a significant turn as she recently celebrated her engagement. The delightful photos from the joyous occasion have been shared online, capturing the happiness of the moment.
