Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. reportedly indulged in a lavish shopping spree while visiting Africa, splurging a staggering $7 million at a Gucci store in South Africa, according to Esquire Middle East. Accompanied by a team of security guards, Mayweather attracted a crowd of enthusiastic fans eagerly awaiting his presence outside the outlet.
A video circulating on social media captured the world champion leaving the store donning a North Face shirt and flashing a peace sign to the cheering onlookers, while a group of armed men formed a barrier between him and the crowd.
Mayweather is well-known for his appreciation of luxury items. In April, he attended a Gervonta Davis–Ryan Garcia match in Las Vegas sporting a diamond-encrusted black cap created by jeweler Shuki International. The cap, featuring the logo of his Money Team lifestyle brand, carried a price tag of $1 million. Reports suggest that its unique design could fetch up to $5 million if resold.
In 2017, Mayweather struck a deal with Swiss designer Philipp Plein for his highly anticipated bout against Conor McGregor in Las Vegas. Mayweather wore a custom boxing robe and trunks from the brand, while his entire support team reportedly donned bespoke outfits.
