Former Works and Housing Minister, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN, vehemently denies baseless claims that he had any role in drafting the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) Judges. Fashola expressed his disappointment with the spread of this false information on social media platforms in a statement released by his Special Adviser, Media, Hakeem Bello.

Fashola, who has been away from Abuja for an extended period of time, refutes the allegations as entirely unfounded. He condemned those behind the dangerous allegations as agents of destabilization.

Taking action against the offensive tweets and online reports, Fashola initiated the process of filing formal petitions with the management of the microblogging site, X (formerly known as Twitter), and the National Communications Commission (NCC). He urged security agencies to treat this matter seriously, as it directly affects judicial independence.

Fashola believes that these allegations might be part of a larger campaign to undermine the judiciary by those aiming to manipulate the institution for personal gains. He stressed the need to uncover the identities of the perpetrators and their sponsors, ensuring they face appropriate legal consequences. He also encouraged the public to disregard these false claims and report individuals spreading such fabrications to security agencies.
