In a celebration of love and unity, former CNN anchor Don Lemon and his longtime partner Tim Malone exchanged vows in a picturesque ceremony at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan on Saturday. The joyous occasion, attended by approximately 140 guests, including a plethora of celebrities, marked the beginning of a new chapter for the couple.

Lemon, 58, and Malone, 40, radiated happiness as they sealed their commitment to each other in front of their loved ones. Among the notable attendees were former “Today” show host Matt Lauer, “View” co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Ana Navarro, as well as Alec Baldwin, Clive Davis, Luann de Lesseps, and Tamron Hall.

Following the heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds emerged from the church, beaming with joy, and were accompanied by their three beloved dogs, who played a special role in the festivities. Lemon and Malone were resplendent in velvet tuxedos by Suit Supply, with Lemon donning a striking green ensemble and Malone opting for a classic navy attire.

Following a heartwarming ceremony at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan, guests of Don Lemon and Tim Malone’s wedding were treated to a lively New Orleans-style “second line” procession. Led by the Gotham Kings band, reminiscent of Lemon’s Baton Rouge roots, guests joyfully marched from the church to Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar, where guests toasted to the happiness and love shared between Lemon and Malone. The couple’s decision to host a grand wedding was fueled by their desire to make a public statement and involve their loved ones in their joyous occasion.

The Polo Bar, chosen as the reception venue, held special significance for the couple. Lemon, who grew up in Baton Rouge, was honored with a unique menu featuring Southern favorites like chicken-under-a-brick, alongside delightful treats like petit fours.

The venue was adorned with photos capturing cherished moments from Lemon and Malone’s journey together, creating a touching backdrop for the celebration.

From the outset, tradition played a significant role in Lemon and Malone’s wedding plans. With Malone hailing from a Catholic family and Lemon’s Baptist background, the couple embraced their respective faiths by prioritizing a religious service.

Reflecting on the importance of tradition, Lemon expressed his desire to have a church wedding, stating, “I wanted to get married in the church. So Tim made that happen.” The couple’s commitment to honoring their religious and cultural backgrounds underscored the significance of their union and laid the foundation for a meaningful celebration shared with their loved ones.

Speaking to People magazine ahead of the wedding, Lemon revealed his trust in Malone’s organizational skills, despite his own last-minute tendencies. “I’m a last-minute person, and most things I just don’t worry about,” Lemon confessed. “But this one I’m secretly worried about, but I’m letting Tim take the reins because he’s a good planner.”

The ceremony, officiated by their “friend” and United States ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, incorporated marriage traditions from both Lemon and Malone’s families, symbolizing the merging of their lives and backgrounds.

Reflecting on their decision to have a grand wedding after an eight-year engagement, Malone explained, “We wanted to make a public statement and we wanted to involve our loved ones. We obviously could have easily gone to city hall. We could have used Covid as a perfect excuse to do something really quiet. But I think this is also a message.”

As the newlyweds embarked on their journey together, they were serenaded with Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” upon entering the church and exited to the jubilant tune of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” With hearts full of love and surrounded by their cherished friends and family, Don Lemon and Tim Malone celebrated the beginning of their married life, marking a significant milestone in their enduring relationship.
