The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has expressed its disapproval of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State for the composition of his commissioners, which reportedly includes seven Muslims and 17 Christians.
In a statement released on Monday, MURIC’s Executive Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, accused Governor Adeleke of displaying religious bias, claiming that he has granted a license for the oppression of Muslims.
“We strongly condemn the unfair denial of privileges that should be given to Muslims, which have instead been diverted to over-pampered and well-fed Christians in Osun State. By deceiving the Muslim community and engaging in a game of religious hide and seek, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated a severe lack of honor and dignity, while embracing infamy and bias,” Akintola stated.
Akintola further alleged that Adeleke’s deceptive actions aim to perpetuate the marginalization, discrimination, and oppression of Muslims in Osun State, going as far as to claim that Adeleke is a covert agent for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
“However, this will only be temporary. Time will reveal the truth. Governor ‘James Bond’ and the few self-interested Muslims he is manipulating will soon realize that honesty and transparency are the hallmarks of enduring leadership,” Akintola concluded.
