Coventry City have just seen a potential all time FA Cup comeback win ruled out thanks to a VAR check.

The Championship side were seemingly dead and buried at 3-0 down against Manchester United at Wembley, but produced an astonishing comeback to level the game in stoppage time and take the game into extra time.

They thought that they had done it again 30 minutes later, when Victor Torp tapped home in the 120th minute, sending the Coventry players and fans into ecstacy and the final.

Or so they thought.

A VAR check showed that Trop had drifted fractionally offside when the pass was played, leaving the game level and heading to penalties.

Then there was heartbreak as they fell to a 4-2 defeat on penalties to the Premier League side.
