A senior figure within the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General I. M. Ahmadu, tragically lost his life while participating in the Second Annual Physical Training Test for 2023.

Reports from SaharaReporters reveal that General Ahmadu, an accomplished Artillery Officer stationed in the Army Headquarters Department of Special Services and Programmes, suffered a fatal fall while engaged in the running exercise. He was promptly rushed to a hospital where his passing was confirmed, as confirmed by a high-ranking military source on Monday evening.

According to the source, in keeping with Islamic tradition, General Ahmadu’s burial took place on Monday evening.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Army Brigadier General I.M. Ahmadu. He met his untimely demise while participating in the Second Annual Physical Training Test for 2023.

Brigadier General Ahmadu was a dedicated Artillery Officer attached to the Army Headquarters Department of Special Services and Programmes.”

“Tonight, he was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs,” the source conveyed.
