Beloved actor Andre Braugher, who starred in long-running hit series including “Homicide: Life On The Street” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” died Monday at age 61.
According to Deadline, who first reported the news, Braugher died from a brief illness.

Braugher was best known for playing Baltimore homicide detective Frank Pembleton on the ’90s police procedural series “Homicide: Life On The Street.”

He went on to star in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” as Captain Raymond Holt, alongside Andy Samberg and Terry Crews.
He is survived by his wife, Ami Brabson, and his three sons, Michael, Isaiah and John.
