The Yola Police have successfully foiled an attempted attack on the residence of former vice president and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar. Four individuals suspected to be members of the insurgent group, Boko Haram, were arrested in connection with the plot.

According to a statement released by the media office of Atiku Abubakar on Monday, the incident took place on Sunday, 23 July 2023, at approximately 9:44 pm.
