Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, is set to officially acknowledge a romantic relationship with lawyer Nathan Wade in a forthcoming court filing related to the prosecution of Donald Trump in Georgia.

The filing, obtained by CBS News, emphasizes Wade’s assertion that he has no financial interest in the election interference case and challenges accusations of impropriety.

In an affidavit, Wade states, “In 2022, District Attorney Willis and I developed a personal relationship in addition to our professional association and friendship. I have no financial interest in the outcome of the 2020 election interference case or in the conviction of any defendant. No funds paid to me in compensation for my role as Special Prosecutor have been shared with or provided to District Attorney Willis.”

Willis’ legal team dismisses the allegations as a “ticket to the circus,” condemning intrusive attempts into opposing counsel’s personal life.

The response comes after Trump’s co-defendant, Michael Roman, claimed Willis had an improper relationship with Wade, alleging financial benefits exceeding $650,000.
