Andre Braugher’s cause of death has been revealed.

A rep for the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star confirmed to Page Six Thursday that he died after a months-long battle with lung cancer.

The spokesperson shared Braugher had been diagnosed with the deadly illness “a few months” prior to his death on Monday.

The publicist had previously told us that the beloved actor had died from a brief illness. He was 61.

He was best known for playing a Baltimore homicide detective named Frank Pembleton on the ’90s police procedural series “Homicide: Life On The Street.”

His award-winning stint on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” alongside Andy Samberg and Terry Crews, also earned him two Critics Choice Awards and four Emmy Award nominations.

Several of his former colleagues took to social media to honor him after his death earlier this week.

“Can’t believe you’re gone so soon,” Crews, 55, wrote via Instagram.

“I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent.

The ex-NFL player added, “This hurts. … I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you” before concluding, “You showed me what a life well lived looks like. Rest In Peace, Andre. I love you, man. 😢”

Actress Chelsea Peretti, who played Gina Linetti on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” wrote on her Instagram at the time, “Is it weird that I am also grieving for what Captain Holt meant to Gina?

“I really hoped and knew I would see you again. Hate that I won’t 💔.”

Braugher is survived by his wife, Ami Brabson, and their three adult sons — Michael, Isaiah and John.
