Former Enugu State Governor, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, has raised allegations suggesting that President Bola Tinubu is following a script orchestrated by the United States of America (USA) to safeguard his disputed election in Nigeria.

Dr. Nwodo, a former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), went on to elaborate that the USA is encouraging President Tinubu to adopt a military approach to restore democracy in Niger Republic, in order to maintain their access to uranium resources.

Furthermore, Dr. Nwodo accused the USA of obstructing Nigerian efforts to gather evidence against the President, who has faced controversies surrounding alleged drug trafficking and educational qualification issues.

In exchange for these perceived favors, Dr. Nwodo asserted that President Tinubu appears willing to comply with the USA’s demands, even including potential military intervention in the unstable Niger Republic.

Dr. Nwodo revealed these claims during an exclusive interview with Vanguard on Sunday.

He expressed his concerns about the influence the USA seems to exert over the Nigerian President, citing the origins of opposition parties’ disqualification cases against the President at the election tribunal, which he alleges trace back to the United States.

“The US protected him from his alleged drug trafficking and educational qualification scandals. The US frustrated the efforts of Nigerians who are trying to get evidence against the President in all of these,” Dr. Nwodo stated.

Concluding his statements, he remarked, “This is certainly Western manipulation.”
