How does Dan Quinn feel about the first month of the upcoming season?
The Washington Commanders open on the road at Philly, then travel to Dallas in Week 2, return home to face Super Bowl Champion Seattle, and fly to London to play the Colts. “I actually love when we get to start the season against a division opponent,” Quinn told “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan on Friday.
“It kind of sets the tone and mindset right from jump street. So I like those spaces to go (at Philly, at Dallas). It seems like this year there are more division games earlier in the season than there was last year when there were more towards the end. It’s exciting, you know who we’re playing all along, but to see it all flow out and where it is, is exciting.”
Washington will travel to London in Week 4 to play the Colts, who may have QB Daniel Jones back by then. The Colts were 6-1 in 2025, but then Jones was hobbled, and his play suffered. Restricted, he later went down for the remainder of the season with a torn Achilles tendon. “We are kinda putting together the whole plan together now, you know, where you are traveling, what to do, all of those things.”
Quinn had the opener on his mind, so he transitioned back, “But as far as that goes, I kinda love the opener where it sits, in terms of having a division game. That’s usually one of my favorite things to see when the schedule comes out when you get a division game from jump street whether it’s home or away.”

Commanders fans may recall Quinn also adopted an aggressive motto prior to the start of the 2024 season, proclaiming, “Anybody, Anywhere, Anytime.”
