The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has issued a rebuttal against what it described as “strange and dangerous” fabrications circulating on social media regarding its recent leadership deliberations.

The party, in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Nuberu Olufemi, expressed concern over “distorted narratives” trailing the state caucus meeting held at its secretariat in Abeokuta on Monday.

According to the statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday, the party insisted that some reports in the media intentionally misrepresented the resolutions reached by the caucus.

It reiterated that the state caucus announced a unanimous and consensual endorsement of Senator Olamilekan Solomon, widely known as Yayi, as the APC’s governorship candidate and reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the presidency.

Parts of the statement read, “For the avoidance of doubt and for the sake of absolute clarity, the Party hereby reinforces its official stance as follows:

“Gubernatorial Endorsement: The State Caucus unanimously and consensually endorsed Distinguished Senator Olamilekan Solomon, popularly known as YAYI, as the Party’s Governorship Candidate for the 2027 General Elections.

“Presidential Endorsement: The State Caucus equally reaffirmed the Party’s earlier endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its Presidential Candidate in Ogun State for the 2027 General Elections. The Party pledges its absolute commitment to delivering an unprecedented bloc of votes in support of the President during the election.

“The above are the sole and authentic resolutions reached at the meeting and represent the official stance of the Party. Any narrative circulating outside the scope of this official statement constitutes a fabrication, and the Party clearly and categorically denounces such fabrication outright.”

The party advised members of the public to disregard any information not communicated through its appropriate official channels.
