Grammy-winning artist Lizzo has set the record straight after sparking concern with a cryptic Instagram post over the weekend. In a heartfelt video shared on Tuesday, the “Truth Hurts” singer addressed the ambiguity surrounding her earlier message, emphasizing her unwavering dedication to her craft and her fans.

In the initial post, Lizzo expressed frustration at feeling constantly scrutinized and criticized, declaring, “I quit.” However, she quickly followed up, reassuring fans that her resignation was not from music itself, but from allowing negativity to overshadow her passion.

“I wanna make this video ‘cause I just need to clarify,” she affirmed in the follow-up video. “What I’m not gonna quit is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting to people, ‘cause I know I’m not alone.”

She vowed to persevere, determined to inspire others to stand up against negativity and reclaim their power.

“In no way, shape or form am I the only person who has experienced that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive,” she shared. “If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves…then I’ve done even more than I could have hoped for.” She affirms, “I’m going to keep moving forward and keep being me.”
