After sharing nearly three decades of marriage, the beloved Hollywood couple Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have decided to go their separate ways.
In a joint statement provided to People on September 15, Jackman, 54, and Furness, 67, expressed their gratitude for their long-lasting, loving marriage. However, they revealed that their journey was evolving, leading them to make the difficult decision to separate in pursuit of individual growth.
“Our family remains our utmost priority, and we embark on this new chapter with appreciation, love, and compassion. We kindly request your understanding and respect for our privacy as we navigate this transition together,” their statement concluded.
Their love story began when they met on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli in 1995. Despite facing challenges due to their 13-year age difference, including a brief breakup, Jackman and Furness reconciled and exchanged vows in 1996. Their family grew as they adopted their son Oscar in 2000 and daughter Ava in 2005.
