Grammy-winning singer Adele, 36, delighted fans during her concert in Munich on Friday night by confirming her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul, 42, marking a significant milestone in their three-year relationship.
The announcement came in a spontaneous moment during the show when Adele read a sign in the audience that playfully asked, “Will you marry me?” In response, Adele candidly revealed, “I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married. So I can’t.”
The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in July 2021 after being spotted together at Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Phoenix, have maintained a relatively low profile over the years. A source previously told *Us Weekly* that Adele and Paul had been dating for months before their public debut, with the insider noting, “He’s very shy and keeps a low profile when they go out, whereas Adele is super sociable.”
Adele’s relationship with Paul followed her highly publicized split from her ex-husband Simon Konecki, with whom she shares a son, Angelo. The pair announced their separation in April 2019 after seven years together, finalizing their divorce in March 2021.
Despite her fame, Adele has kept much of her personal life under wraps. However, during a rare interview for her CBS special, *Adele One Night Only*, in November 2021, she opened up about her bond with Paul, describing him as “hilarious” and “very smart.” Adele reflected on her emotional growth since beginning her relationship with Paul, noting, “It’d be interesting to see what my reaction is like in general to anything that hurts me now that I feel so secure in myself.”
Speculation about their engagement began in February 2022 when Adele was seen wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand at the Brit Awards. At the time, she remained coy, telling *The Graham Norton Show*, “If I was [engaged], would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t?”
Adele has also expressed a desire to expand her family, stating in the same CBS interview, “I would like more children. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if I don’t have them because I have Angelo. But yeah, I think [that’s in the cards].”
As she continues her Las Vegas residency, Adele has often shared her deep affection for Paul with her audience. In December 2022, she publicly declared her love for him during a performance, saying, “I love you more than life itself — we wish you [a] happy birthday,” before leading the crowd in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” for him.
With their engagement now public, fans of the “Easy on Me” singer eagerly await the next chapter in Adele and Rich Paul’s love story.
