This incredible gesture took place during a Sunday service, where Rema expressed his sincere thanks for the church’s unwavering support and spiritual guidance throughout his journey.

In a moving speech captured in a now-viral video, Rema shared his motivations behind the donation:

“I’m not here to give myself any accolades or glory. I’m here to give God the glory. I feel like it is important to give back because the church has embraced, prayed for me, and has kept me very consistent with my spirit,” Rema said.

His donation was divided into several impactful contributions:

– N40 million pledged towards the church’s infrastructure.
– N20 million dedicated to the Rhapsody of Realities initiative.
– N25 million for the infrastructure of the Teens Church, where he began his spiritual journey.
– N20 million to support widows within the church.

Rema also opened up about the church’s crucial role during a dark time in his life, revealing how they supported his family after the loss of his father when he was just eight years old.

“When I lost my dad, we felt very lost and abandoned. All that we had was taken from us, and we felt very alone. I remember Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, the pastors of this church, opened a shop for my mum, and that was what she managed to take care of us,” Rema shared, highlighting the profound impact the church has had on his life.

In addition to his generous donation, Rema recently returned to his hometown in Benin ahead of his highly anticipated homecoming concert. He was welcomed by music mogul Don Jazzy and the Mavin crew, who came to show their support. Rema even had the honor of entertaining the Oba of Benin at his palace, where he was presented with a royal plaque.
