London Gatwick Airport officially welcomes Fly Airpeace into its fold. In a recent post from its official handle @Gatwick_Airport, the announcement reads:
“Exciting news! We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Nigerian carrier @flyairpeace to the London Gatwick family, offering daily flights to Lagos 🇳🇬. Whether you’re reconnecting with loved ones or traveling for business, embark on your next journey from London Gatwick to Lagos with Air Peace.”
The airport also commended the livery of one of Air Peace’s aircraft as it passed under their Pier 6 bridge during its inaugural arrival a few days ago.
Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, expressed gratitude to the Airport Authority via his handle: “Finally! Thank you @Gatwick_Airport. We expected this on the first day of the arrival of one of our most important local airlines @flyairpeace, but better late than never. We look forward to working with you to ensure seamless operations by @flyairpeace from your airport. The Government of Nigeria fully supports our local operators.”
While many others celebrated this long-awaited development, some expressed disappointment, urging the airport authority to have announced the partnership sooner, particularly after the airline had already commenced operations.
