September 22, 2024

New York, NY – CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota has shared the heartbreaking news of her husband Tim Lewis’ death after a courageous two-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Lewis passed away on July 27, just two months shy of their 23rd wedding anniversary. He was 58 years old.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Camerota, also 58, paid tribute to her husband of over two decades, calling him a “phenomenal father, husband, friend, and role model.” The couple shared three children: Alessandra and Francesca, both 19, and Nathaniel, 17.

Camerota shared a touching wedding photo from September 2001 and expressed her sorrow and admiration for the way Tim faced his diagnosis. “I cannot imagine any human being soldiering through a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility, and bravery than Tim,” she wrote. “The kids and I are still getting our bearings. Tim imbued us with a lot of strength and stability and we’re determined to try to emulate those qualities.”

Tim Lewis, a highly accomplished private equity professional and business consultant, was known not only for his career but for his deep commitment to community service. According to Camerota, much of his life was dedicated to helping others. To honor his legacy, the family has established the Tim Lewis Foundation to Fight Cancer, an online fundraiser aimed at supporting families facing similar struggles.

Camerota expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received, writing, “Thank you all for your love and letters, trays of lasagna, and the many, many gestures of kindness. I am grateful.”

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Tim Lewis remained deeply connected to his roots. His obituary described him as a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and someone who cherished time with friends, reminiscing about their childhood experiences playing Dungeons & Dragons and enjoying taco nights. After graduating from Yale University, Lewis went on to attend Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. He built a long and successful career in private equity, working with prominent firms such as The Keystone Group, CRG Partners, and Atlantic Street Capital before becoming a partner at Southfield Capital, where he worked for nearly a decade.

In her Instagram post, Camerota also reflected on their upcoming wedding anniversary, expressing how fortunate she felt to have had such a “deep, committed, loving partnership” with Tim. While still processing the profound loss, Camerota shared plans to return to work in the coming weeks and to write more about her experience in the future.

Tim Lewis leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and service that will be cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues.
