Beyoncé Supports Kamala Harris’s Presidential Campaign with “Freedom”

In a significant endorsement, lobal music icon Beyoncé has granted permission for one of her powerful tracks to be used in Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Harris’s team reached out to Beyoncé’s representatives on Monday, seeking approval to play “Freedom,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, from the artist’s critically acclaimed 2016 album “Lemonade.” The song played during Harris’s first official visit to her campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.

According to a CNN source, Beyoncé, who is known for her selective permission of song use outside her own projects, promptly approved the request, allowing Harris to make her campaign entrance with the empowering anthem on Monday night. Representatives for both Beyoncé and Harris have yet to comment on this collaboration.

Though Beyoncé, 42, has not formally endorsed Harris, 59, her approval to use “Freedom” is seen as a significant nod of support. This move follows President Biden’s recent decision to withdraw from the 2024 race, making Harris the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Beyoncé has a history of supporting Democratic candidates. She was a vocal advocate for President Barack Obama during the 2012 election, even performing the national anthem at his inauguration in 2013. Her continued political involvement highlights her influence and commitment to the causes she believes in.

Harris’s choice of “Freedom” for her campaign is particularly poignant. The song, featuring powerful lyrics and a strong message of resilience and liberation, aligns with Harris’s platform and the challenges she aims to address in her presidential bid.

As the 2024 election season heats up, this collaboration between Harris and Beyoncé is poised to energize voters and amplify the campaign’s message of empowerment and change.
