Hulk Hogan will be remembered in a memorial service next week following the pro wrestler’s shocking death.
The service will take place on Tuesday, August 5, in a church in Tampa, Florida, a source tells Us Weekly.
In documents obtained by Us on Thursday, July 31, it was revealed that Hogan’s body will be cremated. The cremation was approved on Wednesday, July 30, by the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center in Largo, Florida.
The documents revealed Hogan’s cause of death to be acute myocardial infarction, most commonly known as a heart attack. His manner of death was listed as natural.
The Real Reason Brooke Hogan Wrote Herself Out of Dad Hulk Hogan’s Will
Hogan also suffered from Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a type of cancer that affects white blood cells called lymphocytes.
CLL typically progresses more slowly than other forms of leukemia and usually impacts older adults.
It is not known when Hogan was diagnosed with CLL.
Hogan died on Thursday, July 24, after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
He was 71 years old.
The wrestling legend was remembered by countless friends and family members after his death, including his daughter, Brooke Hogan.
“My dad’s blood runs through my veins,” Brooke, 37, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, July 29. “His eyes shine through my children. And our bond has never broken, not even in his final moments. We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes. I am so grateful that I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens. We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together.”
Brooke continued, “When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us.”
She and her husband, former NHL player Steve Oleksy, welcomed twins, Oliver and Molly, in January.
Brooke Hogan Explains What Led to Relationship Breakdown With Dad Hulk
Brooke was estranged from her father at the time of his death, which she revealed happened “during the last two years.”
“All I ever wanted from my father was love, honesty and a deep connection,” she wrote. “And for a few special years, I had that — with memories that will last a lifetime. My world is forever changed. But I’m deeply blessed with a loving husband and two beautiful children who remind me every day of life’s greatest gifts.”
She concluded, “I’m deeply grateful for the love, tributes, and memorials from his fans and friends. His life was one worth celebrating — and always will be.”
Given the family’s estrangement, it is not clear if Brooke will be in attendance at the memorial service. On Wednesday, Brooke explained that she didn’t attend WWE’s tributes to her late father because she was not invited by the company.
