Hulk Hogan’s cause of death has been officially confirmed.
Hogan died from died from acute myocardial infarction, most commonly known as a heart attack, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.
According to the documents, Hogan had a history of leukemia CLL, a type of cancer that affects white blood cells called lymphocytes. It is not believed that Hogan’s cancer was public knowledge.
The documents indicate that Hogan’s body will be cremated.

The professional wrestler’s family previously confirmed to Us Weekly that he died on Thursday, July 24. He was 71.
Police in Clearwater, Florida, confirmed at the time that Hogan suffered cardiac arrest at his home. Clearwater Fire Department and Clearwater Police Department personnel responded to a medical call at 9:51 a.m. on Thursday. Hogan was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews before being taken by Sunstar to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

One month earlier, Us revealed that Hogan was recovering from a major operation on his heart.
“Hulk had pretty serious heart surgery a few weeks ago and was doing well afterward,” a source said at the time.
Hogan is survived by his wife, Sky Daily — whom he wed in September 2023 — his children, Brooke and Nick, and his grandkids, Oliver and Molly.
Prior to his death, Hogan (real name Terry Gene Bollea) was estranged from his daughter, Brooke, 37.

“Terry not speaking to Brooke is [a] much more recent thing,” an insider told Us in March, adding that Hogan “tells people he doesn’t specifically know why Brooke won’t speak to him.”
Hulk’s 2007 split from Brooke’s mother, Linda Hogan, after nearly 24 years of marriage could have contributed to the tension between the father-daughter duo, according to the source.
“A lot of damage was done during their divorce,” the insider told Us.
Amid the family’s ups and downs, Hulk “for sure tried to be a good dad,” the source added, claiming that Hulk was still “very close” to Brooke’s brother, Nick, 34.

As for Hulk’s career, he rose to fame after joining the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) — which would later become known as WWE — in 1979. His popularity brought new attention to the sport and led to his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. Outside of the ring, Hulk and his family starred on the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best for four seasons from 2005 to 2007.
After retiring from wrestling in 2012, Hulk suffered a series of health setbacks, revealing in a 2023 Men’s Health interview that his body “shut down” on him. Over the course of a decade, he underwent more than 20 surgeries on his back, knees, hips and face, which inspired him to lose weight, exercise and eat better.
“I feel great,” he told the outlet at the time. “Without all the other extra stuff, you actually feel alive because a little bit of pain makes you know you are alive.”
