In a series of strategic decisions, President Bola Tinubu has given the green light to a significant reshuffling of key ministerial portfolios and even a renaming. Abubakar Momoh, who was previously at the Federal Ministry of Youth, now finds himself at the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development. Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Youth awaits reassignment under a minister-designate.
Among the ministers-designate, alterations have taken place within the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine & Blue Economy:
(A) H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola takes on the role of Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy.
(B) Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo now serves as the Honourable Minister of Interior.
(C) Hon. Sa’idu Alkali’s new position is Honourable Minister of Transportation.
Additionally, a noteworthy change is observed in the Oil & Gas sector, with both Ministers of State. Their designations now fall under the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources:
(i) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri is recognized as the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources.
(ii) Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo assumes the title of Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.
Furthermore, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management has undergone a name change to become the Federal Ministry of Environment.
The directives of the President ensure that all of these shifts take effect immediately.
