Ali Abulaban, a popular TikTok star, has been found guilty of first-degree murder for the killing of his wife, Ana Abulaban, and her friend, Rayburn Barron. The verdict follows a tragic chain of events triggered by Abulaban’s discovery of his wife’s infidelity.
The incident unfolded after Abulaban, who had been kicked out of his home on October 18, 2021, installed a listening device on his 5-year-old daughter’s tablet. Just three days later, while monitoring the device from a distance, he overheard a man’s voice and his wife giggling inside their San Diego apartment.
According to Deputy District Attorney Taren Brast, Abulaban, enraged by the situation, rushed back to the apartment. Upon arrival, he found Ana and Rayburn allegedly engaged in a romantic moment. In a fit of fury, Abulaban shot Rayburn multiple times in the neck, cheek, and head. He then turned the gun on his wife, shooting her in the forehead.
During a tearful interview, Abulaban recounted the moments leading up to the killings. “It broke my heart… to see her kissing Ray, on my couch, with his feet on my table, with my wife, my money, my apartment, in the house that my daughter sleeps in on the furniture I put together. What do you expect a man to feel?” he lamented.
Abulaban’s sentencing is scheduled for June, where he faces a potential life sentence for his crimes.
