Mugshot of Tiger Woods Released Following DUI Arrest After Florida Crash

March 28, 2026

JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. — A mugshot of golf legend Tiger Woods has been released after he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following a rollover crash in Florida, authorities confirmed Friday.
The image, made public on March 27, shows Woods wearing a blue shirt and staring straight into the camera with a serious expression during the booking process.

Crash Details Emerge
According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. local time on a narrow two-lane road in Jupiter Island, Florida.
Authorities responding to the scene found a Land Rover driven by Woods overturned on its side, along with a pickup truck towing a pressure-cleaning trailer.

Sheriff John Budensiek said the driver of the pickup truck reported seeing Woods’ vehicle approaching at high speed.
“The driver looked in his mirror and saw a dark-colored Land Rover overtaking him at high speeds,” Budensiek explained. “As he tried to move aside, the Land Rover swerved to avoid a collision but clipped the back end of the trailer.”
The impact caused Woods’ vehicle to roll over.

Woods Escapes Without Injury
Despite the severity of the crash, Woods was able to exit the vehicle through the passenger-side window and did not suffer any reported injuries.
However, officers at the scene observed what they described as signs of impairment, prompting them to call in DUI investigators.

Officials said Woods underwent a breathalyzer test, which returned “triple zero” results, indicating no alcohol detected. However, he refused to submit to a urinalysis test, which is required under certain circumstances during DUI investigations.

Charges Filed
Woods was subsequently arrested and charged with:
Driving under the influence (DUI)
Property damage
Refusal to submit to a lawful test
Authorities emphasized that Woods’ status as a high-profile athlete did not influence their decision.

“We know we arrested a high-profile figure, but it doesn’t matter who you are,” Budensiek said. “If you break the law, we’re going to follow the law.”
Medical History Considered
During the investigation, Woods reportedly informed officers about his recent medical history, including a lumbar disc procedure in October 2025, which authorities said was taken into consideration during field evaluations.

Custody and Safety Measures
Sheriff Budensiek also noted that Woods would be kept separate from the general jail population to ensure his safety while in custody.
“He’ll pay the price, but he’s not going to pay the price by getting punished in jail,” Budensiek said.

Ongoing Developments
As of Friday, representatives for Woods had not publicly commented on the incident.
The crash and subsequent arrest mark another high-profile legal issue for the golfing icon, whose career has spanned decades and includes numerous major championship victories.
Officials say the investigation remains ongoing.
