The gruesome murder of an 80-year-old couple, Adebola Ezekiel and his wife, Abiodun Ezekiel, has shaken the residents of Apo Legislative Quarters in Abuja. The suspect, identified as the former driver to the deceased couple, has been apprehended by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr. Benneth Igweh.

According to reports from the police, the investigation swiftly led to the arrest of the suspect, who was found in his hideout in Obajana, Kogi State. The suspect reportedly confessed to gaining access to the couple’s residence on April 1, where he allegedly slit their throats and fled with their phones and ATM cards.

The police commissioner, Mr. Igweh, disclosed that the suspect was among several others paraded during a press conference. In addition to the arrest of the driver, the police have also apprehended two other suspects in connection with another homicide case in Mabushi area.

Further investigations have revealed a chilling account of events leading to the murder. It is alleged that the suspects in the Mabushi case administered non-prescribed drugs to the deceased, resulting in her untimely demise.

Moreover, the FCT Command has scored a victory against armed robbery in the region, with the arrest of nine suspected armed robbers. The apprehension of these individuals was the result of a well-coordinated operation, leading to the recovery of various firearms and ammunition.

The commissioner assured the public that all suspects will face the full wrath of the law, with plans to charge them to court upon the completion of investigations.
