The day began with a heartfelt funeral service in his cherished church on September 9, followed by a private burial, attended by his close-knit family and dearest companions.
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, aged 67, passed away in the United States on August 7, leaving behind a legacy of faith and devotion.

Recently, insights into the events leading to Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s passing have come to light. The founder of the Fountain of Life Church in Lagos, who left us on August 7, was reportedly battling health issues that traced back to personal tragedies.
According to The Nation, a source close to the family revealed that he struggled to cope with the profound losses he had endured. The source remarked, “He really didn’t get over the losses he suffered. He tried to be strong, but there is a limit to what a man can take.”
One of the most heart-wrenching moments in Pastor Taiwo’s life was the tragic loss of his first wife, Pastor Bimbo, who perished in the Sosoliso plane crash in 2005 at the young age of 45. Their love story, which began during their university days at the University of Ibadan, was deeply cherished, and her untimely death had a profound impact on him.
The source shared, “Pastor was more devastated by what people said after Pastor Bimbo died than what actually happened. Many people said nasty things that saddened his heart. He was touched by the savagery of the comments. Well, he had no choice and decided to move on despite the heartbreak. It took a lot of talking for him to decide to remarry.”
In another heart-wrenching blow, Pastor Taiwo faced the loss of his second wife, Pastor Nomthi, a South African, on November 9, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer. These trials and tribulations serve as a testament to his resilience and unwavering faith throughout his life’s journey.
