The All Progressives Congress (APC) ward in Ganduje, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State has taken a bold step by suspending the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, amidst allegations of bribery. The suspension, effective from Monday, 15 April, 2024, was announced by the ward’s legal adviser, Halliru Gwanzo, who addressed journalists in Kano.
Gwanzo cited the seriousness of the allegations against Ganduje, as leveled by the Kano State Government, as the primary reason for the suspension. “We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him,” stated Gwanzo.
The suspension has stirred uncertainty within the leadership of the APC, with potential wider implications for Nigerian politics, especially in the build-up to the 2027 elections. With the national chairman yet to comment on the suspension, questions loom over the future trajectory of the party and its leadership dynamics.
